Following are summaries of the major categories of writing services I have provided to others and can provide to you:
Technical Writing and Business Writing
Developed a wide variety of materials, including software and technical specifications, proposals, business processes, books, best practices, procedures, and web content and graphics. The materials were developed through personal research and by interviewing subject matter experts (SMEs).
Software Documentation
Worked with developers to document both proprietary software and widely available applications. Wrote software requirement specifications (SRSs) and functional specifications. Performed testing, including quality assurance (QA) and regression. Prepared test plans based on end-user work flows. Isolated "show-stoppers" and defects before the applications reached the end-user. In general, helped free up the programmers' time so they could do what they do best--develop programs.
Training Materials/End-User Documentation
Designed task-specific training materials that significantly increased employee productivity and reduced costs. Designed and developed automated templates used to ensure consistency in corporate publications, including proposals and network designs. Developed innovative "job aids" and quick start" documentation. Developed for print and online use instructional materials and lab exercises. Conducted one-on-one and group training.
Rates
Rates are comparable to, and sometimes even lower than, those of writers with significantly less experience and competancy. will work independantly on a 1099 basis or through your preferred agency on a W-2. Please contact me directly to discuss rates and costs.
